        Started as a wing, in Topolcany went to the midfield and in the end took place of "Libero". As a perspective player he became a member of junior team of former Czechoslovakia and in Inter Bratislava was given a chance to play the league. First time represented Czechoslovakia not even 22 years old in Wiena Prater against Austria. That was in time, when trainers were looking for defenders able to defend and attack.
        Young player had a good physical fond, courage to attack and finish attack with a hard shot. His modesty and diligence can be sample for every player.
        His direct kicks became famous in whole Europe. Was former Czechoslovakia youngest player, who played in both final matches ( Netherlands, GFR ) in European championship 1976 in Yugoslavia, where team of former Czechoslovakia became European champion. Unforgettable is his goal against Italy in match for 3-th place during European championship 1980 in Italy.


        As a young fan of ASK Inter Bratislava I immediately took liking in this exceptionally humble and diligent great player. I use to followed my team (Inter ) so many times on matches and 50% of my trips were by ASK Inter Bratislava football players bus. Laco (Jurkemik) use to sit always in the front of the bus, so that I had never change to speak to him personally (We - fans use to sit in the back of the bus). I will never forget an instance, when Laco after a win against city huge rival SK Slovan Bratislava on their stadium came to the fence, where we were standing and personally thanked us for continuous rooting on behalf of whole team. He stayed loyal to ASK Inter Bratislava whole his football career, only at the end he went to the Swiss team Saint Gallen,where even the Swiss players picked him out for their captain. During farewell game on the home stadium for ASK Inter Bratislava, my eyes were full of tears and a huge bouquet of flowers from us - loyal fans was only a little thanks comparing what Laco did for our team Inter.
