Andrej KVASNAK

(5. 19. 1936)

            Born in Kosice. Since his boyhood, he had always close touch with football. It
was just a matter of climbing the fence surrounding the stadium of  VSS ( currently
1. FC ) Kosice. He helped junior team of VSS Kosice to win Czechoslovak junior
championship 3 times.
            After army duty in Czech club Dukla Pardubice he returned to Kosice. He was
24 years old, when he found out, that it was going to be hard finding the way into
Czechoslovak representation from Kosice. That is why he decided for transfer into
Prague (Spartak Sokolovo). Later he played for Sparta Prague.
            First time dressed the jersey of Czechoslovakia in May 1960 against Austria
(Czechoslovakia - Austria  4 : 0) and scored 4-th goal. Since then represented 47 times.
Took part in World cup 1962 (Chile),  where he played in each match. At the end of his
professional football career played in Belgium.
