Jozef CHOVANEC
(3. 7. 1960)
Born in Kockovce,
Slovakia. Started to play for Kockovce, from there went
to Gumarne Puchov, and the most of his professional football career
spent in
Sparta Prague (Czech rep.), where later became a captain of a team.
At the end of
his career went to RH Cheb (Czech rep.), later played for PSV Eindhoven
(Nether-
lands). Played 382 Premier league matches and scored 59 goals.
For
Czechoslovakia played 52 times and scored 4 goals. Was a captain of
Czechoslovak national team in WC
1990 (Italy), where Czechoslovakia advanced to
quarterfinals.
